Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use RAD Pass?

RAD Pass is available to any Allegheny County library cardholder over the age of 18. Library cards must not be expired.

How do I make a reservation on RAD Pass?

  1. Visit radpass.org and click on “Reserve a Pass.”
  2. Enter your library card credentials. If you need a library card, you can register online
  3. Browse for passes by date or venue. Please note that passes are in high demand and supplies may be limited!
  4. Make a reservation.
  5. Make sure to read each offer carefully, everything you need to know about visiting the organization will be listed in the description and on your RAD Pass.
  6. Print or download your pass as soon as you can. Remember that once you print/download your pass you must contact us to cancel the pass. Please allow for two business days to process this request. Passes are only redeemable during hours that each venue is open to the public—be sure to check the venue’s hours before you reserve! You will be required to present valid ID in person that matches the name on your pass. The cardholder who reserved the pass must be present to redeem free entry.

Can I use my RAD Pass on a different date than the date I reserved the pass for?

No. When reserving your RAD Pass, you will be able to choose the day you would like to use your RAD Pass. If that date is available, you will be able to select it on the calendar. You are then beholden to that date unless you cancel the pass and choose a different date. Partner organizations will not allow you to use your pass on a date that does not match the date on your RAD Pass.

How do I use my ticket?

There are 3 kinds of tickets that can be reserved through RAD Pass, listed below. Once you choose an offer to redeem, please read the offer carefully when reserving your ticket so you know how to redeem it.

  1. Digital or Print Pass Accepted – you will bring the printed/digital pass provided by RAD Pass.
  2. Promo Code Required – RAD Pass will provide a promo code that can be used at checkout to redeem the free offer. The offer provider’s checkout site will be linked on the ticket for ease of use.
  3. Link with Discount Applied – you will be provided a link that takes you to a checkout site for the offer provider with the discount automatically applied.

Which cultural institutions are available for reservation through RAD Pass?

For a complete list and detailed information on each, please visit Participating Organizations.

Why don’t all the partners listed on your website have offers available right now?

RAD Pass partners make ticket offers based on availability and may only have a limited number of passes to offer at a given time. Additionally, some offers may only be available to certain zip codes. If passes are not currently showing for your favorite amenities, check back soon.

Is there an age limit to participate in RAD Pass?

You must be 18 or older to reserve passes. Individual passes may include age restrictions, too. Check the offer details for more information.

You can print a pass at any library location. Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will waive printing fees for RAD Pass passes; printing policies vary at other Allegheny County libraries, so please ask your local library about printing costs.

The RAD Pass site is designed to work on any device. Use the browser on your mobile device to access the mobile version of RAD Pass.

Why can’t I make a reservation?

There are a few reasons why you may not be able to make a reservation:

  • No passes are currently available. Check back soon!
  • You have met your limit of active reservations.
  • You’ve already used up your available passes at this site for the year.

How do I cancel an active RAD Pass reservation?

If you have not retrieved (“print/downloaded”) your RAD Pass, you can go to “My Reservations” and click the green “Cancel Reservation” button. If you have retrieved your pass (“Print/Download”) please click the “Contact Us” link on the top of My Reservations and request for your pass to be canceled. When making this request please include: the organization the pass was for, the day you reserved the pass or the date the pass is for, and the name on the library card connected to the pass. A library staff member will be able to cancel your pass for you, please allow 2-3 business days for confirmation that your pass has been cancelled.

How can I reset my PIN?

You can reset your PIN by visiting the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh website or your local library.

How many passes can I reserve? How often can I reserve passes?

Limits on the number of passes and how often you can reserve a pass are set by our Participating Organizations for each offer. To find out the details about any pass offer, log in and view the offers. You may have three active reservations at a time. Once the date on your soonest RAD Pass occurs, you will be able to make another reservation

I’m not sure I’ll be able to use the pass, should I still reserve it?

RAD Summer Staycation offers are limited. Please be courteous to other RAD Pass users: only book a reservation that you plan to use on the selected date. If you find you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation to open up spots for others.
